From the Flight Deck

Spring is Here!
Spring has arrived! The weather is warming up and our Jets have really shown amazing growth this year. I want to congratulate our 3rd through 5th grade students on working hard and completing their state assessment, AZM2. Students persevered through the writing, math and reading assessments and truly showed us what it means to work hard.
As we begin to plan for next school year, it is imperative we have accurate enrollment numbers as we use that to help staff our classrooms. Please make sure if you have a student who needs to be enrolled K-5th grades, that you have completed an enrollment packet online and uploaded the necessary documents.
There is a lot of information in today's Flight Deck. Please refer to it and our website because now through the end of school is busy! We appreciate your continued support and look forward to a great finish to this school year at Jacobson!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Liz Wolf
Principal
Masks: What Does the Board's Decision Mean?
Board Meeting Vote on Masks (What does this mean for us?):
CUSD Board member’s met Wednesday, 4/21, to discuss and make decisions in regards to Governor Ducey’s recent announcement rescinding masks in schools. The Board decided to continue with masks being mandatory in CUSD with the exception of recess, in which case they would be optional.
What does this mean for staff and students?
- Students and Staff will continue to wear masks indoors, at all duties, upon arrival/dismissal, while transitioning or moving through campus, and going to the restroom.
- Students may opt out of masks during recess and PE. If a teacher is present and supervising during a class activity outdoors, students may opt out of the mask for no longer than 15 minutes if around the same group of students. If students are working in a group outdoors, without the teacher present, students will need to wear their masks.
- Adult to Student and Adult to Adult is still social distanced with masks on. * It is board policy that students be given the option while outdoors and social distanced.
Oh, Say Can You See!
Thank you to our unsung hero’s on campus! A group of fifth and sixth graders members assist Mrs. Lautt in the front office. Each day, the team works to put the flag up and take it down all while following protocols. The team volunteered to lend their services when they realized we didn't have a formalized Flag Corps club (COVID casualty). Pictured are: Jordyn Amen, Alorah Zarnick, Jackson Slater and Jack Harnack. Missing are Z Green and Ainsley Coyle. Thanks for your patriotism, Jets!
