Principal's Message
Dear Hallinan Families,
Rain is in the air at Hallinan! And when the ground is as wet as it has been this week, we’ll all eat indoors. In order to follow safety protocols and maintain 6 foot distance between students, we are using the whole building for indoor lunch. Students may be eating on the gym floor or in the hallways. We highly recommend making sure your child has a blanket or towel to sit on while eating lunch indoors or outside - something with a waterproof backing is ideal. This is for their protection and for the longevity of our flooring.
Despite the weather, we are doing our best to get outside for recess as often as possible. Please make sure your child is prepared to go outside with proper footwear and clothing that will keep them dry and comfortable. It may be colder in classrooms as well. Although Hallinan is heated and we do have a new HVAC system, we also have wonderful new windows that open. Teachers will be opening windows - even on cooler days - to assist with continuous air flow. It is advised that all students are dressed each day in layers so they are comfortable both indoors and outside.
Your children have been amazing at keeping 6 feet apart while eating and wearing masks at all other times. We appreciate your partnership in keeping our students safe and our schools open. We are thrilled to have them with us everyday! As we all work together to protect our students/your children, please make sure to read the arrival and dismissal reminders below.
Enjoy the sunbreaks when you can!

Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
Cul de sac: Please do not park at the roundabout at Hemlock St and Hallinan St before, during or after school. This may be used as a drop off area for after school activities only, but no parking is allowed to make sure there is ample space for emergency vehicles. There are three no parking signs posted around the cul de sac. Thank you for adhering to this city regulation.
Main Entrance: We know the car rider line is long, but please be kind to each other and be good role models for our students.
- Do not drop off students before 8 am, we do not have staff available to supervise until 8 am.
- At the top of the driveway, please treat the entrance to Hallinan as a four-way stop. Take turns (one right hand turn, one left hand turn, and keep alternating).
- To keep the car line moving efficiently, please remain in your vehicle.
- During the school day, which includes arrival and dismissal, please remember that masks are required for all students, staff and families.
We appreciate your patience and support!
