The Bully
By Paul Langan
Summary
The Bullyis about a kid named Darrel who just moved to California because his mom needed a better job. Tyray, the school bully finds Darrel as an easy target to pick on. Fed up with Tyray, Darrell tries to ask his English teacher for help but the only help he gets is a book called Hatchet, which he doesn't know will be useful in rough times. Thinking that it would be a good idea, Darrel decides to join the wrestling team despite his size. In the end Darrel is able to solve his problem with Tray and end his troubles.
Character Analisis
Darrel changes in the book by joining the wrestling team. He gets stronger each practice and is improving courage by reading the book Hatchet. Whenever he is in a situation that makes him uncomfortable, he looks up to Brian (the main character in Hatchet) and wonders what he would do in a situation like this.

Book Comparison
Calvin and Hobbes is a lot like The Bully because Darrell and Calvin both have to pay money to a bully, they both get beaten up and the only thing i think is different besides age is that Calvin talks back to the bully.
