Clio Middle School
March 2022
Vaping
- Teachers will be stationed in the restrooms between classes
- Only one restroom will be open at a time.
- No backpacks will be allowed in the restrooms. Students may take a pouch or purse as needed.
- Students will sign in and out of their classrooms when leaving during class time.
- Students will still be required to show a pass when in the hallway during class time
Please support us in cracking down on these behaviors by talking with your children at home about the impact vaping can have on their health. Pay attention to what they have in their backpack and make sure they understand that there could be legal consequences if they have a vape or are using one on school property. Thank you so much for your support!

7th and 8th Grade Pre-Festival Concert
MSBOA Band Festival was on Friday, March 4th for our CMS 7th & 8th Grade Bands. This is one of our most important performances of the year! The students prepare a program of pieces to be performed for a panel of musical experts who will then rate the students performance based on a state-wide rubric. The student musicians have been hard at work perfecting their music, including a great performance at our Pre-Festival Concert! Pre-Festival is a "practice" concert in preparation for our Band Festival performance. The students performed for our guest clinician, Mr. Dave Armbruster, who critiqued the students in a similar fashion to how they will be evaluated at Band Festival.
Pictures below are from our Pre-Festival Concert.
Student Poetry
Mr. Hayden's and Mrs. Lamb's 7th and 8th grade students wrapped up their poetry unit by writing their own poetry. There were 6 criteria to meet for a grade, but students also had the opportunity to win different categories and earn a special prize. Poems are being displayed in the hallway for the rest of March for parents to see during conferences.

Counselor's Corner
This month the counselors want to focus on wellness! Checking in with ourselves helps us see our strengths and where we may need more support. Take a look at the image below to check into your wellness!
Parent teacher conferences are around the corner! Students have been working on their Educational Development Plans (EDPs) through a new website called Xello. EDPs assist students in identifying academic and career goals. The counselors will be available during parent teacher conferences if parents or guardians want to discuss EDPs!
