Spring Musical - Beauty and the Beast

HBMS is excited to announce that its spring musical is Beauty and the Beast, Jr. The musical will premiere in April.

Show dates and times are:

  • Friday, April 29th at 7:00 pm
  • Saturday, April 30th at 3:00 pm
  • Saturday, April 30th at 7:00 pm

8th Grade Dance Information

Mark your calendars for this year's 8th-grade celebration. It will be held on Friday, May 20th, from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm in the gymnasium. Tickets are $10.00 per student and will go on sale the week of the dance. Students will be able to purchase tickets during their lunch period.

Rules of the dance:

  • No tuxes, strapless dresses, jeans, t-shirts, cut-offs or limousines.
  • Only 8th-grade students from Hannah Beardsley can attend
  • Students are not allowed to leave early unless they are checked out by a parent
  • Students must attend the entire day of school in order to attend the dance.

8th Grade Honor's Night (Promotion to High School)

On Monday evening, May 23rd, at 6:00 pm, we will honor all of our HBMS 8th graders at Prairie Ridge High School. Each family will receive 4 tickets to attend the event. More details for this ceremony will be forthcoming in the next few weeks. Note: May 23rd is the last day of 8th grade student attendance. 6th and 7th graders attend until May 25th.

Countryside Nursery Spring Fundraiser is coming again to our HBMS families. Start planning your gardens, but wait until May 14th to do your shopping! Countryside will donate 10% of total HBMS sales on that day. Look out for the flyer that you will need to present upon checkout!

Staff Appreciation Week is scheduled for the week of May 2nd. The Staff Appreciation Committee is busy planning a week of celebrating our awesome faculty and staff, including a festive Cinco de Mayo street taco lunch, a raffle, and a trail mix cart. Returning Student Online Enrollment is coming soon!

As in past years, confirming enrollment for the upcoming school year is required for all District 47 students in grades 1 - 8. You will need to access this process in ParentVue. If you do not have a login for ParentVue, please contact If you need to reset your login, please call Hannah Beardsley, and they can assist you with that.

If you have been recently contacted about your Proof of Residency needing to be updating, this is required before you can complete Online Enrollment for next year.

Returning student enrollment needs to be completed in order for your child to see their class schedule in August before the first day of school.

Meet MCC Event for D47 7th/8th Grade Families

Meet MCC: A D47 student’s first look at McHenry County College” will be held at McHenry County College on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. A partnership between Districts 47 and 155 and McHenry County College (MCC), the event is intended to spark interest and curiosity about future careers and to highlight pathways for student success. Click HERE to register. The event is free and will be held in English and Spanish. Location: McHenry County College Conference Center (8900 US-14 in Crystal Lake). Park in Lot A; enter building through “Atrium” entrance.
