Trice Nuts and Bolts
ACT Aspire testing April 30th, May 1st & 2nd
Because all of you will be involved in testing, you may wear your jeans and tennis shoes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Make sure that you are up and walking around during the testing sessions. Everyone will leave their cell phones and smart watches in their cars. If you don't feel your car is a safe place to keep these items, then turn them in to the office and Mrs. Becky will lock them up in a drawer in my office.
Students may not have cell phones, smart watches, or electronic devises. Teachers will ask students to place their device in a small ziplock with their name on it. Teachers are to then place the devices in a large ziplock and send them to the office to be locked up in the vault during testing.
Remember that during testing no one can be on the internet while we are testing. This means that you may not stream videos, games, or any other learning tool that requires the use of the internet. You may down load and save items to your computer prior to testing if you choose to.
We will not have morning assembly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students who arrive prior to 7:45 will go to the cafeteria. K-2 students will be able to get breakfast and bring it to the classroom. Students in 3-5 will have breakfast in the classroom. The cafeteria will bring enough breakfast items to your classroom for every students. Teachers please print our a student roster with student ID numbers. If a student chooses to eat breakfast then please mark it on the roster. Please encourage all students to eat even if they have already eaten, we will not start testing until 9:00 and go for over an hour.
Attendance incentives for testing week
Student have the potential to earn up to 6 tickets for those three days. Students who earn 6 tickets will be given a bracelet on Friday for unlimited turns down the slide. Students who earn 1-5 tickets will bring their tickets to the slide and be given 1 turn for every ticket earned.
I suggest that classroom teachers have a way to display students tickets each day of testing. For example, teachers may want to tack ziplock bags for each student on the bulletin board and then deposit a ticket when the students have earned it. This will keep student motivated to be at school, on time, and live up to the expectations. Also, once a ticket is rewarded to a students it is not to be taken away. Make sure they have earned it before you reward it.
Pull out teachers will use the rubric given out by Mrs. Newton and communicate daily with the homeroom teacher.
