Art Goes to School - Coming to Buckingham!
During the week of Jan. 16-19, Art Goes to School (AGTS) of Delaware Valley will be at Buckingham.
AGTS is a non-profit volunteer organization who bring art appreciation classes to nearly 155,000 elementary school children in the Delaware Valley. In partnership with the James A. Michener Museum of Doylestown, AGTS uses prints from the Michener to make art accessible to elementary school students - through an instructive, informal presentation - encouraging the students to “look, listen, and feel” art.
Art plays an important role in developing a child’s imagination and in appreciating the works of a wide cross-section of peoples and cultures. AGTS uses reproductions cave to modern art - including European, American, African-American, Native-American, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, and African works. The children learn about pieces from varied communities around the world.

We had a fantastic turn-out for our 5th and 6th grade musical, “The Adventures of Captain Starblaster” and have started rehearsals – the show is open to the public on April 5th and 6th
6th graders are continuing to study the decades in modern American music history
5th graders will soon begin their study of the Great Composers
4th graders are continuing their study of Recorder Karate
3rd graders are reviewing line and space names on the staff so they can begin playing Boomwhackers and bells

Book Talk - Library News!
Students have enjoyed using iPads in the library this year! First and Second graders are using the iNigma app to scan QR-codes to listen to stories. Third and Fourth graders are also using iNigma to scan QR codes linked to book trailers Mrs. Kraus compiled - introducing them to new books and/or series broadening their book selections and choices. Fifth and Sixth graders hare making PicCollages of books with their iPads - found during library class scavenger hunts (w/partners).
Be sure to check out the Specialist’s SeeSaw Account for pictures of these activities!
