Family Math Night-Thursday, Nov. 20th!
We hope you will join us for our first math night of the year from 6-7pm.
Come and play math games, door prizes will be given out, and each student will take hoem a math goody bag:)
Reading, Writing & Language Arts-
Literacy Focus: Plot Features
ELA:
- Reading-Infer/Predict
- Language- Proper Nouns
- Writing- Correct use of commmas
- Spelling- "tri" prefix
Please make sure your child is reading each night at home for at least 20 minutes and completing their reading log. The reading log is not due until Fridays, but the Language 4 Today is due everyday. We go over this homework at the beginning of our ELA block together to check for understanding.
Math Corner- 4.NF.2 Revisiting Comparing Fractions with different denominators and numerators
* Check their agenda daily and make sure they are completing their weekly homework-assigned Monday, DUE Friday
*On Thursdays, make sure your child is studying and looking over their Math 4 Today, especially any that they had difficulty with. We do 4 boxes a day and check at the beginning of our block.
*If you have internet access have your child log onto his/her account and practice math fact fluency and math skills tailored to your child’s strengths and weaknesses

Social Studies News

4.13 Locate the first 13 colonies and explain how their location and geographic features influenced their development and settlement patterns.

About Mrs. Warbritton
I am married to Jeff, who is a firefighter with the Nashville Fire Department and we have two precious daughters, Emma Kate (9) , Rylee Marie (7), and an adorable son, Carter Allen, who will be five in October. I love spending time with my family and friends.
I am so excited that I will be working with you and your child this year! I will work hard this year to meet each child’s needs, no matter their ability. I will do my best to help your child to develop socially, emotionally, and academically. I firmly believe each child can reach his or her potential if he or she is willing to do their BEST! As a teacher, wife, and mother, I strive hard to put 110% in all that I do. I am looking forward to a very exciting year here at Shayne!

About Ms. Head
I want to start off by saying that I am thrilled to have your child in my classroom this year! This will be my fifth year teaching at Shayne Elementary and my third year teaching in fourth grade. We are all going to be learning from each other throughout the year. I graduated from Metro Nashville Schools and loved every school that I attended. I hope your child will be able to say the same.
My name is Ashlee Head, and I am 27 years old. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Middle Tennessee State University. I coach a competitive cheerleading squad at Premier Athletics in Franklin, TN. This will be my 11th season coaching at this gym. Some of my other hobbies include reading, shopping and spending time with my wonderful friends.
