Welcome to the Summer trimester!
We are open for the whole summer trimester, offering you a cool place to study to escape the warm temperatures. But you don't need to be on campus to access what the library offers. You can do it from home. Or from the beach. All you need is to be connected online.
The focus of this newsletter is a refresher on some of the tools you may need to get your trimester off on the right foot. First, if you haven't done so yet, please review the library orientation guide as a portal to everything we offer.
Or you can join our Public Services Librarian for an overview/Q&A session on Monday, June 12th at noon.
Before you get started, you're going to want to make sure you've installed Grammarly, which helps you improve your writing. And Visible Body is here to help you study for A&P.
We'll keep the newsletter light for now. We hope you have a great trimester.

Orientation and More Support
We'll highlight a few but our guides are always available.
Search the library with one search
The library offers an easy search tool allowing you to search in multiple places with one search. This search includes:
- Our catalog (books, videos and other items)
- Mutiple databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, Academic Search Premiere, and more...
- Articles published in journals we subscribe to even if they're not in a database
- Access to full-text articles when available or a easy form to request an interlibrary loan
- High quality results focusing on your needs instead of an advertiser's needs.
Virtual Library Q&A
Join Krista Jacobson, our Public Services Librarian, for an overview of the library. In this session, she will introduce you to the tools we provide to make your life easier as a student such as our single search tool, interlibrary loan, Grammarly, writing help...etc.
She will also be available to take questions specific to your needs.
The event will be online. You can access it here:

Grammarly
The university offers access to a free Grammarly EDU account.
Grammarly EDU
- helps with your spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- offers verb tenses and agreements corrections
- suggests ways to polish our writing and strike the right tone
- highlights redundancy, run-on, and wordy sentences
- performs a basic plagiarism check
Instructors tell the writing lab they wish student writing were more polished. Getting a Grammarly EDU account is a fast way to improve your writing and impress them.
So start your trimester right by downloading Grammarly to work with Word, Outlook, and your favorite browsers. Check out our handy guide, with short tutorials, here:
Visible Body
Or, you can access Visible Body's 3D models for your own personal study and review.
