Jackie Robinson's Life
I know that there are some people out there that don't know Jackie Robinson, or his life story. Well if you don't know who he is, or his life story then today or tonight is your lucky one. It all began when Robinson was born on January 31, 1919, in a small town called cairo, Georgia.
Robinson had attand John Muir High School, and then attended Pasadena Junoir College. Through his school life he was a great athelete. He played many sports, as in baseball, football, track, and basketball. The president of the Brooklyn Dogers, Branck Rickey. During his decade-long career with the Brooklyn Dodgers, he made advancements in the cause of the Civil Rights for the Black Atheletes.
In 1955 helped the Brooklyn Dodgers win the World Series. He then retired in 1957, with a career batting average of .311. Robinson was named the most valuable player in baseball in 1938.
From 1942 to 1944 Jackie served as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. When he was discharged from the army, he began playing baseball professionally. He then begane playing the negro leagues first then got chosen by the Brooklyn Dogers.
