Our Collective Commitment Corner
Dear Pirate Team,
As we come to the close of our first quarter together, I want to be certain to thank you for making me feel welcome into your lives, into your classrooms, and into our culture here at PCHS. Whether as informal coaching conversations or full coaching cycles, I am so very much embracing the work we’re doing together for our students!
What I like about the article below by Learning Forward’s Joellen Killion (@jpkillion) is the succinct nature of her writing regarding instructional coaches’ roles. As I continue to grow in my role, I’m realizing emergence in many areas and particularly found a connection with Lesson Study. As cross-curricular teams move into Lesson Study next week, please do bring your Chromebook with you. #PCR3Proud
Pirate Core Values
Thank you to all of our teams for the thoughtful discussions over the Core Values. We recognize that having these conversations requires you to be vulnerable and transparent, which will only help us grow together!
BLT is eager to continue developing ways for us to connect, communicate, commit, and create together.
Enjoy your weekend!

Invite your Veteran neighbors, family, and friends!
Field Trip Reminders
1) Field trip approval forms are now electronic. The link is on the PCHS Forms Home Drive Field Trip Request Form. You will be notified by email of approval/denial of the field trip. **PLEASE REQUEST AHEAD OF TIME!
2) We have added a calendar to overlay on your google calendar and Master Calendar, PCHS Field Trips.
This will enable all staff to see when there is a field trip planned/approved. The office staff will place all approved Field trips in this calendar so all staff will be able to see when students will be out.
Also, please remember, if you are leaving from PCHS please have the bus and students meet you in the South Athletic Office Commons, not the welcome center.
Learning Lab
Please remember to fill out the LL FORM when you send a student over, and remind them to check-in with Suzanne.
Location: Paxton Conference Room
Processes for Learning Lab:
Check-In is with Suzanne Frame in Paxton. Students sent to the Learning Lab need to go directly to the Paxton Welcome Center to sign in. The supervisor will be contacted to join the student(s) in the lab.
When students need to make up a test or assignment, the classroom teacher must complete the Learning Lab Google Form (located on our PCHS Dashboard) ahead of time. That way we can have the supervisor waiting for the student to ensure they get as much time as needed.
When students are sent without prior notification on the Learning Lab Google form, the classroom teacher must complete this form right away so that the supervisor knows what the student needs to be working on and/or the reason the student is being sent to the lab.
Students who are highly agitated, struggling with emotional/social issues, or appear to be very upset are to be sent to the main office. We will determine what the needs of that student are and help them from there. Always either accompany a student under these circumstances and/or call the office for assistance.
