Mary McPherson Families

Thank you for participating in our Jogathon fundraiser! We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our families and community! So far we have raised $17,900 for our school!!! We will be receiving a new backstop for kickball games at recess, and two more soccer goals for the new west field. We appreciate your support! Kiss the Pig at Farmstead

Our Kiss the Pig Event is scheduled for 7:30 pm on October 11. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event to have time to park and purchase tickets, but we can arrive as early as 4:00 pm and stay until 9:00 pm. From now until the event, students can vote for which teacher gets to pucker up and kiss the pig! Bring all your loose change and put it in the pig of the teacher you want to win. The pigs will be by the office. The teachers in the running this year are Mrs. Welk, Mrs. Berg, and Ms. Gordon.

We have a new line for reporting attendance!

If your student is going to be absent for any reason, please let our office know at 208-855-4301. You may call and leave a message at any time.

Cell Phone/Watches/Electronics at School

Cell phones/watches/electronics need to be off and in students' backpacks during the school day. If you need to get a message to your students during the school day, you may call the office and give us your message. We will make sure it gets to your child. Students may turn on those devices as soon as school is out (3:55) if you need to contact them then. Thank you for helping to keep our classrooms focused on learning with minimal distractions.

Notes From Nurse Bonnie

Hello Parents,

We are excited to offer Mary McPherson students an option for dental cleaning services. West Ada School District and the Family Medical Residency of Idaho have teamed together to open a pediatric dental clinic serving children in the West Ada School District that do not have Medicaid or private dental insurance. The clinic is located on the Meridian Elementary School campus. It offers no cost dental cleanings to qualifying students.

October 15, the Meridian Schools Clinic has reserved appointments for Mary McPherson students. If your student has no dental insurance and you would like to schedule a no cost dental cleaning for your student, please contact the Meridian Schools Clinic at 208-514-2527. If have any questions, please contact our school nurse Bonnie Hamilton.

Lost and Found

Every year we have many items which go unclaimed in our lost and found. Please help us to return your student's items to them by writing their name or initials on the inside of their jackets, coats, hats, gloves, lunchboxes, water bottles, etc.

I am seeing a lot of kids sporting their new Mary McPherson sweatshirts. These are very difficult for students to tell apart in the lost and found. Please make sure to put initials or names so we can return them to their rightful owners.

If your student is missing something, encourage them to check the lost and found. Parents are always welcome to stop by and take a look. Our lost and found is located just past the office on the left side of the hall.

Student Drop off Times

  • Please do NOT drop off your students before 8:45 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. There is no staff on the playground to supervise students prior to this time.
  • Wednesdays are late start, do not drop off students before 9:00 AM. School starts at 9:25 every Wednesday.

Wildcat PRIDE

We are the Wildcats here at Mary McPherson! In our classrooms we focus on developing our Learner Dispositions. They are our Wildcat PRIDE:

  • P-Persistent
  • R-Reflective
  • I-Independent
  • D-Driven
  • E-Engaged

We will be learning about each of these dispositions in the classrooms through videos and activities this fall. You might also notice that our spirit wear shirts are also showcasing our "PRIDE" this year as we work to become awesome learners! We will be sending home more information about each one as we learn and practice them.
