Section 1: New and Important For This Week
=============================================
Returning to In Person Learning FYI's:
On Monday, February 22, the SMSD superintendent announced that students would be returning to daily in person schooling on March 22. Please note that information will be coming in the future weeks regarding updated in person protocols and requirements.
Important Items:
- Your student must have a planner when they attend school on Monday, 3/22. If they have lost or misplaced their school-issued planner, please let the front office staff know. Replacement cost is $5.00.
Other FYI's:
- IHMS's ability to properly socially distance is severely impaired due to the number of in person students we have returning (708).
- 6ft of distance will be prioritized when students are unmasked and eating lunch.
- Middle school mitigating strategies can be found in the middle school mitigating measures document linked here.
- A variety of minor changes in procedure will take place regarding lunchroom arrival/dismissal, updated nurse access information, hallway, stairwell, and restroom directions, etc. We will inform students of these new procedures during Knight Time on Monday, 3/22

Important New IHMS Car Loop Information
NEW CAR LOOP PROCEDURE:
Beginning the week of March 15, please begin to pick your student up from the Delmar (back) parking lot loop regardless of student grade level. The process of splitting each car loop by grade level was feasible during hybrid due to low student numbers, but the fire station loop will not be able to fully support the volume of traffic once full in person learning returns on March 22.
While parents must plan to pull forward to the west end of the courtyard for their student's pickup, outdoor supervisors will move students further west into the back courtyard area for pickup (rather than picking up directly off of the SE corner exit).

Jr. Board Update
On Thursday, February 25, Junior Board students welcomed representatives of the agencies they are researching to a virtual meeting. The students prepared questions to ask of the agency representatives prior to the meeting, so their time was spent gleaning more information about the agencies they are supporting. The students and leaders appreciate the extra effort and time that the agencies are providing to our students. The leaders appreciate the student who are getting up to meet online for 7:30 Thursday meetings! It is a commitment, and we are very proud of the student Junior Board members.
Below are some photos from the online meeting with agencies.
