Week of June 2, 2014

English Language Arts

Miss Warnke: Each student will be giving oral presentations of one his or her favorite books. We will also be doing some end of the year writing activities.

Mrs. Allen: We are working on comprehension and vocabulary while reading “Where the Red Fern Grows.”

Ms. Naze: Students will be working on their independent reading and applying skills. We will also be setting summer goals. Please ask your children to share them so you can sign it. Students will also be doing some short poetry.


Math 4: This week we will be finishing up the year with probability. Our final test will be on Friday.

Math 7, 8: This week in math we will be finishing up with integers. Our last test will be this Thursday covering both units 8 (data displays) & 9 (integers).


We are working on a presentation for the class. Students were able to choose from doing a scientist bio poster or an experiment to show the class using the PHEOC (scientific method). We will be working on the projects Monday through Wednesday and presentations will be Thursday and Friday.

Social Studies

Students are learning about the most recent conflicts in U.S. History and reflecting on what we have learned.

End of the year auctions items needed

If you are able to offer any gift certificates or gently used items a6th grader might get excited about, please send it in with your child. Students will be able to bid on item with their Franklin Bucks at the end of the year.
