Why the Irish came to the u.s

The Irish came to the united states for religious freedom and to be better payed better working places more sanitary and clean spots and most importantly, MORE LAND!!!!

A tradition they brought

The most known tradition the Irish brought with them is saint Patrick's day! Saint Patrick was born in 387 AD and when he grew up he teached about god! He died in 417 AD and that means he was 30 years old. After all the preaching about god the Irish made the holiday saint Patrick's day!

recipe, Irish soda bread

4C flour

1 t baking soda

1 t salt

1-1½ C buttermilk

Preheat oven to 425. Brush baking sheet with melted butter or non-stick cooking spray.

Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Gradually add 1 C buttermilk, beating constantly, until the dough is firm enough to be gathered into a ball. If it crumbles, add more buttermilk a Tbsp at a time until it is firm.

Place on lightly floured board and pat into an 8” flattened round loaf.

Place loaf on a baking sheet and slash a ½ inch deep X on the top of it.

Bake for about 45 mins. or until the top is golden brown.

Serve hot.
