National Merit Semi-Finalist
She is one of only 16,000 students nationwide to be named a semifinalist, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
Elizabeth is a leader at SHS, participating on the debate and math teams, and helping to start the history bowl team at the high school. Elizabeth has also volunteered for many years at the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy on Cape Cod. She is creative and dedicated to her pursuits inside and outside the classroom.
"The entire Scituate High School community is incredibly proud of Elizabeth’s impressive accomplishments," said Dr. Maguire, Scituate High School Principal. "She truly embodies the mission and spirit of SHS, and we know she will continue to do great things in the future.”
Elizabeth will now continue in the competition with other Semifinalists for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million that will be offered next spring.
Finalists will be officially announced starting in April 2022.
Congratulations to Elizabeth on this impressive achievement!
Assistant Principals Luette (9&10) and Hughes (11&12)

Assertiveness:
As the excitement of a new year fades and gives way to the realities of a third school year in a pandemic many of us may be feeling overwhelmed or worried. Even if there may not be much we can do to change the broader situation, it can still be helpful to share how you’re feeling with a trusted colleague, friend, or family member. Talking about how you’re feeling can help get worries off your chest and help you feel less alone. The person you’re talking to might even be able to provide an idea you might not have considered or support you didn’t know how to ask for!
