Congratulations to our teachers and students for earning Grand Prize Champions for the HEB Read 3 Read In

On Friday, September 22, 2017, more than 500 students participated. Students read about Pioneers in Science for a Google Classroom assignment. Students listened to MackinVIA audio books to help with language acquisition. Students read and revised college essays. Students read graphic novels in history class. Students enjoyed reading magazines and books of their choice. Students read biology notes. Students read and followed directions for computer assignments. Students read and wrote entries for the McAllen Youth Creative Writing Competition! STUDENTS were Reading. Thank you HEB for the $1000 cash award to be used towards student reading incentives. Mrs. Cruz and Mrs. Pena entered the competition and recruited classes via emails and department meetings. It was a total team effort!

1st Place Video Recording in Texas Youth Creator Awards

Do you have talented media students? Ask Mrs. Cruz to bring a lesson on the Texas Youth Creator Awards to your classroom. Last year our drama department took 1st place in Video Recording. We had a 1st place winner in Coding, Graphic Design, and Multimedia Presentation. Help your students earn STATE recognition. Need more information call ext 1208 or email ncruz@sharylandisd.org
