Real World Hero
Oskar Schindler by Aspyn
Oskar
Oskar Schindler was truly an amazing man. During World War 2 Schindler moved to Poland in 1939 after the German invasion. It was in Poland that he bought a factory and since the only thing standing between Jews and death was working, he hired 1300 Jewish people. Schindler continued to hire Jewish workers throughout the war and designated their skills as essential.Without this designation they could have been taken to a concentration camp or worst a death camp. Oskar had all of his workers build defective bullets for the German soldiers. Oskars greatest accomplishment is that he protected and fed the workers right in the center of Nazi territory. Today more than 7000 descendants of Schindlerjuden (Schindler Jews) live in the US, Europe and Israel. This is why Oskar Schindler is a true hero.
What is a hero?
There is a quote that says, "Heroes, there is no such thing. There is only power and those to weak to seek it." In my personal I think this quote has meaning to it. If you stand up for something you are gaining the courage and the power to become a hero. But heroes don't exist. I don't want to sound brutal, but I think that people give "heroes" the power to become great and famous because they need something to believe in. Anyone can be a hero if another person gives them a chance and lets them be brave and save the day. In conclusion, no one is a hero but if they have the power they can believe they are and end up making a difference.
