Community-Wide Announcements & Reminders
End of Semester 1
The end of first semester will be here before we know it! Grades close on Thursday, 1/25. At last week’s Saber Spotlight we reminded students about the semester ending and encouraged students to review their scores and progress in PowerSchool and to communicate with teachers about any upcoming or missing assignments as well as reassessment opportunities. Similarly, teachers will continue to reach out to families regarding course scores and any concerns they may have about students’ progress. If you have any questions about your child’s grades in PowerSchool, please do not hesitate to contact the course teacher as we always welcome opportunities to communicate and partner with families in support of students.
Math Department
On Thursday January 25, 2024, the Souhegan High School Math Department will host an informational meeting for students and parents of students who are interested in accelerating/advancing in mathematics.
The evening’s agenda will encompass:
The current math pathways at SHS.
Advancement opportunities available to all students.
The meeting will be held in Rooms 126-127 at 6:00 pm. Students are encouraged to attend with their parents so everyone is properly informed and understands the expectations and opportunities available. If you are unable to attend the meeting but wish to receive the information, please fill out the form linked below and the information will be emailed to you.

Creating Friendships for Peace
Creating Friendships for Peace Inc. is looking for families to host pairs of Jewish and Palestinian/Arab citizens of Israel during the second half of July and early August.
Creating Friendships for Peace is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization promoting friendships between teens from divided communities in the Middle East and the island of Cyprus, creating mutual respect and encouraging peace by building bridges for future generations.
Volunteer American host families provide a safe environment for hosting teen pairs, one from each side of their conflict. Throughout this program, they learn advanced leadership skills and share an impossible experience in their home countries.
While staying with their host families, the teens will participate in pre-planned activities to help build friendships and spend time with their host families experiencing life in the US.
CFP provides a unique opportunity to meet incredible people and share your culture and background while learning about their society and cultures. By hosting these teens, you will be helping to create long-lasting, meaningful friendships, a key ingredient toward achieving peace.
If you are interested in hosting or if you would like more information, please contact NH Coordinator Anne Clifton-Waite at annec@friendships4peace.org. You may also reach out by calling Anne at: 603-321-6447.

How long have you been with Souhegan?
I was a graduate student intern last year and this is my first year as a school counselor at Souhegan!

I love working with students to support them to reach their goals. I get to collaborate with so many wonderful people. I enjoy identifying student's post graduation plans and helping them make those plans a reality. What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I love to spend time outdoors. My fiancé and I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and being with friends and family. We like going on adventures with our puppy!

I wish I could adopt all the rescue dogs in the world.
Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?
A beautiful day begins with a beautiful mindset.
