PSAT Testing - April 12
The PSAT 8 test will take place this Wednesday, April 12. All 8th graders were sent home with a PSAT student guide on Thursday. This guide outlines test-taking strategies, examples questions, and directions. If your student didn't receive one, we will have additional available on Monday.
Below are a few general reminders to keep in mind as we approach test day:
- The PSAT for all 8th-grade students will take place at Smith Middle School on Wednesday, April 12.
- We will be completing answer key pre-bubbling on Monday, April 10, in students' math classes.
- The PSAT is administered each spring to 8th, 9th, and 10th graders and the SAT is administered to 11th graders. The PSAT 8 provides students and families with a baseline of current SAT skills and is also used by the state to measure our school's overall academic performance. The PSAT 8 score is not something that is reported to colleges or other institutions.
- Students who go to Troy High School for their 1st hour will be excused that morning and should report to Smith by 8:19am.
- All students taking the test must report to their testing location (most will be in the gym) by 8:19am. Students will be informed of their testing location before the test day.
- Students should bring number two pencils and a calculator with them to test (if your child is not sure about their calculator, please ask their math teacher).
- Students must store all of their personal belongings in their lockers prior to entering their testing location. No phones, backpacks, iPads, etc. will be allowed into the testing room.
- Students can bring a water bottle which must be placed under their seat when not in use.
- After taking the PSAT students will eat lunch and then attend 4th, 5th, and 6th hours. Dismissal time will still be 3:03pm.

LUNCH DELIVERY REMINDER
Key-2-Coding!
EARLY PICK-UP REMINDER
NO STUDENT PICK-UP AFTER 2:45PM
Please remember that we ask that parents do not pick students up after 2:45pm unless it is a true emergency. If you have an appointment to get to, please pick students up before 2:45pm.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Please take a moment to review the drop-off / pick-up map below. We are seeing some specific issues in the parking lot that we want to bring to your attention.
- The middle lane is for drop-off / pick-up only. Please do not park in that row. Pulling in and out of the parking spots is slowing down drop-off and creating dangerous situations for students and vehicles.
- If you are going to park your car for drop-off / pick-up, please use the third row of parking spots highlighted in below in blue.
- Please do not drop students off at the Martell/Cotswold intersection.
Thank you for your continued patience and attention to safety as we have over 600 students entering and exiting our school every day!
We have a great online spirit wear store with a number of new modern styles and items for purchase. You can either pick them up or utilize the option of having your orders delivered directly to your home for a small fee.
