Welcome
Welcome to Mrs. Bohannon's 4th grade class at Stewartsboro Elementary. I am so excited to be teaching your child ELA and Social Studies. I know this year is going to be a great year!
Let me share a little about myself. I grow up in the Memphis area in a little town called Millington. I graduated from MTSU. This is my 14th year to be teaching. I've taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade in Nashville, Murfreesboro City, and Rutherford county. I've been married for 11 years and have two boys that are 7 and 8 year old.
My Teaching Philosophy is “Fair does not mean everyone gets the same; fair means everyone gets what they need.” This quote states my philosophy perfectly! No two children are alike; each child has their own unique learning style and are at different levels academically. My role as a teacher is to find the most developmentally appropriate way to teach each child at their individual level in the way that they learn best. I am a strong believer in small group teaching because it allows you to give children what they need in a way that they can understand it. I believe that every child should be treated respectfully; I try very hard to create a community where the children work together as a team and are truly a second family to each other.
Please contact me if you have any questions or need anything.
