Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
As you know from the latest communication from the Superintendent, there had been discussion at the January 7th School Board meeting to change the construction plans for Castro and Mistral. However, since that Board meeting, the district has decided to stay with the recommendation for the original construction plans and not recommend any new proposals. As a reminder, the original construction plans that will be recommended are a new two-story school for Castro on the Toft Ave side and Mistral will be in the modernized buildings on the Escuela Ave side of campus.
If you have any questions about the construction plans, I would be happy to talk with you.
Best regards,
Theresa Lambert

PTA News
For parents of Graham students or future Graham students
We have an opportunity to greatly improve student safety on the way to Graham Middle School.
At 5:30pm on Tuesday, February 9th, city staff will present their design proposal and take input from the public and city council.
Design elements include: protected bike lanes, bulb-outs at crosswalks to reduce crossing distance, blinky lights at mid-block crossings, and the removal of two motor vehicle lanes to calm traffic and make room for the improvements. Lane reductions like this are sometimes called a road diet.
Please consider attending the study session on Feb 9th, and/or emailing city council by Sunday, February 7th (City Council:citycouncil@mountainview.gov).
This is an opportunity that will benefit students for many years to come. Although middle school may seem far away to those of you with younger children, as a parent of a 4th grader, I can say it comes faster than you might expect :-)
Best regards,
Cherie Walkowiak
Full disclosure: Cherie is a founding member of a community organization called Safe Mountain View, which is dedicated to road designs safe enough for kids to get around by biking and walking
From the District
Did you know that your children can suffer academically if they miss 10 percent of school days? That works out to just one day every two weeks, and that can happen before you know it. So get your children off to a good start. For more information, see https://mvwsd.org/district-info/student-services/attendance
Have a child who needs some extra help?
The Learning Challenges Fair is sponsored by the Learning Challenges Committee and the SELPA1-CAC Parent Group. A wide variety of providers will be attending the Fair, including everything from summer camps to speech therapists, social skills to transitional services, tutoring to financial planning.
