Purpose
The Get Out and Vote Campaign will excite, motivate, and encourage eligible student voters to get out and vote in the upcoming election.

Ad Placement and Reasoning
The television commercial will air on MTV during the hours of 8:00 PM-11:00 PM. Through an informal poll 75% of those surveyed reported that they watch MTV during these hours.

In the television commercial, testimonial is used to effectively persuade student voters of the value of voting. Different celebrities, ranging from actress Natalie Portman to actress/singer Raven-Symone, present valid reasons for young voters to get out and vote. This will persuade student voters who may feel they have no voice to flock to the polls. Among many testimonials presented, commonly admired political virtues such as "rights," "difference," and "peace" are reinforced. These glittering generalities lead the audience to associate the campaign with ideals most Americans value, giving the campaign widespread effectiveness. Slogan is used to reinforce the overall purpose of the campaign. With each repetition of “I am voting for,” the purpose of the campaign is etched into the viewer’s mind, ensuring that he will, in fact, get out and vote for something important to him.
