A Note from Ms. Owens
These past few days have been incredibly surreal for so many of us. Thank you for the messages and feedback you've shared with me and with our SCA staff and faculty. We are working to keep the children engaged and learning while learning new tech tools like FlipGrid, EdPuzzle, Zoom and Screencastify. I know parents are also having to adjust to this new normal by arranging child care, figuring out how to work from home while keeping the kids busy, or searching for routines and activities that will occupy children for a sustained amount of time.
At this time, we don't have any new information regarding the duration for this period of school closure. The Office of Catholic Schools is taking guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control, and, of course, we will share information as we receive it.
Similarly, the suspension of all liturgical celebrations continues. This includes all Holy Week and Easter celebrations. Thanks to Fr. Dennis, Mr. Caffe and Mrs. Caffee, we will be able to view liturgical celebrations online. Currently, you can view Mass for the Feast of St. Patrick. It is certainly a comfort to see and hear Fr. Dennis as he presides. The link to view the streaming Masses is below.
Please continue to pray for one another as well as all those people on the front line during this crisis. Stay safe and stay healthy.
Peace,
Kristine Owens

Heart of the School Nominations
It is that time of year when we celebrate and honor the dedicated staff and faculty of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago - particularly those who serve the St. Catherine of Alexandria community.
Nominations can be submitted by any person who is a stakeholder or constituent of the school community - teacher, staff member, administrator, student, parent, volunteer, etc.
Any current teacher, administrator or staff member who works in a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Chicago can be nominated for a Heart of the School Award. Employees can be full- or part-time employees and must work directly for the Catholic school (not a third-party organization).
