Afterschool Maker Club
Students in any grade are welcome to stay after school to participate in our Chartwell Maker Club on Mondays from 3:15 to 4:30. Activities include ... taking everyday items apart, finding new uses for materials in the Makerspace, and learning new tools and programs. Students choose their own goals and may also continue projects they are working on for schoolwork, and in most cases may bring projects from home (this can be a great place to figure out that STEM-related Christmas present!)
Contact Topher Mueller with any questions at tmueller@chartwell.org. No RSVP is needed.

Student-Led Rock Climbing Club
Hello, parents and students! I am Ethan Benas, a senior at Chartwell High School. I asked that this message be included once more in the Bark today to express my pleasure in announcing that I am creating a rock climbing club as part of my senior project. This club will consist of going to Sanctuary Rock Gym in Seaside two times per week for a one-hour duration after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:30. I'm planning to start the second week of February (2/11/20). If you and/or your child is interested in joining this club, please fill out the online safety liability wavier here: https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/5d8bce80a4497/web/
Students interested in joining the club will need to join as members at Sanctuary, which costs $50 per month with a student ID.
Though faculty and staff are welcome to join us, this is a student-led club.
You are welcome to email me for more information at ebenas@chartwell.org.

Friday Flex: Sex Ed Continues Tomorrow
Just a reminder that we are continuing to use Friday Flex for sex ed. Students continue to be divided by gender for these lessons. Again, families, if you require your students to skip these lessons (or just certain topics), please let us know.
