Whats a social contract
A social contract is a contract in a group or a society where a group of people give up certain rights for the government or ruler to protect the rest of their rights. Social contracts are also agreements and rules to behave or act a certain war in order to receive benefits.
Where the idea of a social contract came from
The ideology of the social contract came from many movements and people throughout history. However the most noted creation of them was in the Enlightenment period between the 17-18 century. Some people that contributed to the social contract was; Hugo Grotius, Thomas Hobbes, Samuel Purfendorf, Immanuel Kant.

- When writing the American Declaration of Independence the authors incorporated ideas of the social contract to insure rights protected by the government
