March Madness
Attendance Contest
From March 1st-March 31st we will be having an attendance contest. Each student will receive a ticket upon arrival of the school day (if they are not late). Their ticket will then be part of a drawing. At the end of the month if their name is drawn, they will get a chance to pie a staff member during lunch. Those with 90% or higher each week will receive bonus tickets!
We look forward to a wonderful month of students, HERE, ON TIME, and STAYING all day!
PATIENCE
Our word for the month of March is patience. This is a GREAT word for both students and teachers. As we prepare for testing and near the end of the year it is hard to have patience. We want our students to be able to accept or tolerate delay of plans, expectations, or wants without getting angry or upset. Please take some time this month to talk with your student about what it means to be patient and share some examples with them. Waiting is hard, but many times it is worth the wait!
I have shared a few books below to help you spend time together with this word!
NO School
There will be NO School on:
Wednesday March 8th-Professional Development Day
Wednesday March 29th-Records Day
Dress like Mr. Grant Day
Bonfire and Books
We will be doing a Bonfire and Books event for Families on Friday March 31st. We will be collaborating with Briggs Road Baptist Church as they will be hosting. The event will begin at 5:00pm and will be a time to read with your student, get FREE books, enjoy a bonfire, snacks and family fun! We hope to see you there!
*More details to follow!
Share your Thoughts about the Proposed School Calendars
The draft calendars are currently under review by the Board of Education. Prior to finalizing the calendars, our district leaders want to hear from families. Including families in our district's decision making is important.
Use the following link to access copies of the calendars (https://bit.ly/3I6p1pE) and to share your opinions through our Academic Calendars Survey (https://bit.ly/3RKrwAX).
The District’s academic calendars are created in collaboration with the Columbus Education Association (CEA) and in consultation with principals, district administrators, and parent representation.
