IMPORTANT DATES
Class of 2023
The Seniors have finished their Senior Project Presentations, and have moved on to planning their 2nd fundraiser. They are trying to raise $2,000, and are hoping to go to Disneyland for their Senior Trip.
You can view their Senior Project Portfolios on the School's Celebration of Learning website.
Class of 2024
The Second Semester is underway. The Juniors completed their 2nd Annual Baked Potato Fundraiser at the end of January. They will now be focused on organizing and planning Prom 2023. We will be in need of parent volunteers to make this event happen. Please reach out to me if you would like to help your child's class in any way.

Class of 2025
The sophomores are currently running a carnation sale for Valentine's Day! The flowers are limited, so talk to a sophomore if you want to purchase some flowers.
MAP testing went great for this group, with growth in just about every category. We are looking forward to finishing out the semester strong and crushing the ISATs this spring.
We cannot say thank you enough for all of the donations and support on the food drive! It was absolutely fantastic to see, and all of the food is being used to supply students/families in need.

Class of 2026
The school year seems to fly by after Christmas. We are already coming up on the end of the 3rd quarter. Most of the freshmen have scheduled their student-led conferences for the end of March. They should confirm these with the parents/guardians that will be attending if they do not coordinate already.
Many of the freshmen are in track or golf this Spring which will add to how busy it will be between now and the end of the year.
Last week on Dr Seuss's birthday the 9th graders read with the third graders in their classroom. Since I think of the freshman as being so young, it is nice to see them interacting with the very young kids so kindly.

IDLA Classes
IDLA assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, and tests adhere to a strict deadline with penalties for lateness. Once a unit closes, you cannot do the Discussion Board, and as I stated previously, do the Discussion Board immediately and respond to 2 classmates, depending on teacher instructions. You can usually re-do assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, and possibly tests for a better grade and again refer to teacher instruction.
You can always work from home or when you have free time in another class. If you are working from home, you can either access IDLA classes through Idaho Digital Learning Alliance (idiglearning.net)using your school email address for the user and whatever you put in for your password. Additionally, you can log into your IDLA classes through the school via Meadows Valley School (idiglearning.net) . If you forget your password or have trouble logging into IDLA, I can reset your password – just see me or email works, too.
Lastly, please do not forget that I am here for help; I am usually in the library all the time beginning at 7:50 AM until 3:30 PM. I will step out for bathroom breaks, meetings, lunch recess duty, and miscellaneous; however, I can be available if you send me an email or just let me know when you are coming for help.
Best,
Cynthia Holbrook
IDLA Lab Coordinator
Art Students Visit Snow Sculptures!
High School Art students tested their knowledge of the Principles of Art while visiting McCall Winter Carnival snow sculptures! Students voted for "winners" best use of: pattern, movement, symmetrical balance, asymmetrical balance, rhythm, contrast, emphasis, and unity. (We might have also enjoyed some hot cocoa at a local coffee shop.... :)
What is Culture?
Students focus has shifted from our, Somos Idaho song to learning about the Latin American Culture via FOOD o Comida!
Food brings everyone together; and history can be told through stories of food! So, students will be learning about Latin America via traditional dishes.
Baking & Making Season
It's pie making season in our greenliving class! We turned our garden-grown pumpkins into pies thanks to Mrs. Carpenter's skills, recipe, and 5th grade students!
Next we will be shifting our focus to Apples via pies and cider! Keep an eye out as the holidays approach.
High School Weight Training
This month students had the opportunity to take their education into their own hands and create workouts that best fit their wishes. President Bradley Steiner is seen here hanging specific workouts that involves Glutes and Hamstrings.
