Titan Families,
We launch the month of March this week! February was full of celebration and care, and we look to start March, we have just as much to highlight. More to come!
We also start to collect student and family data to support our understanding of your experience on our campus. Providing a safe, welcoming and caring school environment while partnering with our families has positively impacted student learning and personal growth. As we continue to measure these attributes of our school climate, engaging our students and families will help us assess where we have been, and where we currently are and identify opportunities to improve and grow for the future. We invite our students and families to share their student experience and school climate this year. Leander ISD is partnering with K12Insights to help us collect your feedback. Please read more about this process below and be sure to fill out your family survey by March 19th.
It's time for spring cleaning on campus, too! Feel free to swing by the office to check out the lost and found. It is stocked with plenty of jackets, water bottles, and lunch boxes. Teachers will walk their classes by the space and provide reminders to students. Be mindful that these items will be donated on March 10th.
As always, stay in the know by reading the information enclosed here and in your Titan(s)'s teacher(s)'s newsletter. Should you need anything, please reach out. Let's make it a great week of building and showing PRIDE in all we do!
Take care and be well,
Dr. Amy Sharp
Proud RPE Principal

TITAN COMMUNITY NEWS
Student Experience & School Climate Survey
Providing a safe, welcoming and caring school environment while partnering with our families has positively impacted student learning and personal growth. As we continue to measure these attributes of our school climate, engaging our students and families will help us assess where we have been, and where we currently are and identify opportunities to improve and grow for the future.
We invite our students and families to share their student experience and school climate this year. Leander ISD is partnering with K12Insights to help us collect your feedback. The results of this survey will provide critical evidence of progress for our LISD Strategic Plan, Campus and District Improvement Plans, and our Community-based Accountability System (CBAS). They will be used by campus and district leaders to guide our ongoing improvement efforts.
The LISD Student Experience/Climate Surveys for students (grades 3 - 12) and parents will be open from Feb. 22 to Mar. 19.
Preview the surveys (Note - you will not be able to take the survey from these links):
How will surveys be administered?
Parents will receive an email with a link to the electronic survey from K12Insights. Link to Parent Survey
Elementary Students (grades 3-5) will have the opportunity to participate in the survey during the school day. Students will log into the survey from a landing page provided by their teacher. Link to Elementary Student Survey
First Lego League Qualifiers: 4th Grade
Mr. Narayanan and the Lego League wanted to report on the excellent performance by our two 4th grade teams from RPE in the First Lego League Challenge Qualifiers at Lockhart, TX on Saturday. Despite being first-timers in the competition competing against middle schoolers (many 8th graders), both our teams did amazingly well with our team placing in the middle of the pack among 40 teams!
The teams were judged for the design of their robots via a presentation, how their robots did in the robot game and their "innovation project" presentation where the kids had to present an innovative idea to solve an energy-related problem. In the end, neither of our teams qualified for the next level, but as, Ameya, who was part of the Superchargers team put it, in her mind her team won because they learned a lot and put up a great fight against seasoned teams & "middle-schoolers with mustaches". Below are some pictures from the event and a short video of our team's robot in action. They look forward to presenting this at the school STEAM night on Apr 5th!
The team also wants to take the opportunity to thank Dr. Sharp and the PTA for both for seeing the value in running this program at RPE this year and funding the program via the PTA. We have some smart and talented kids at RPE.
We hope this year's run inspires many more teams in our school next year!
HEROES Mentors Wanted
Leander ISD needs mentors for students at our campus and across the district. Spending just 30 minutes of your time once per week can make a true difference in the life of a child. Our campus counselors can work out a schedule that works for you and your mentee. To learn more about HEROES mentoring and to sign up, visit our HEROES Mentor website.
Long Range Planning, Legislative Priorities & School Board Meetings
- Check out the updated long range plan. Right now, the VHS feeder zone is not a part of rezoning discussions; however, you'll notice our feeder pattern will be for the 2025-26 school year. Should you want to follow how the northern portion of the district is managing the rezoning, we encourage you to monitor/engage in those sessions, attend school board meetings, and join district committees.
- Check out our district's legislative session priorities.
- Check out our school board meetings to support your understanding of how our district works for our #1LISD community.
