Welcome to Our House "Where Character Matters"
Dear Botsford Families,
Celebrating the lives of people who played a key role in our nation's history is so important! Martin Luther King, Jr. was a champion of civil rights. He worked tirelessly to make life better for all Americans. He showed us what one person can accomplish when we choose to live our lives to help others.
Our students will not have school on Monday due to MLK, Jr. I am sharing a video on Brain Pop if you and your family would like to learn more about his life.
Today we also celebrated our "Students in the Spotlight" for November and December. Mr. Truitt hosted the event. We had a wonderful turnout of family and friends to show support for their Bobcats.
Our students were selected to be showcased today based on the quality of their character. Some of our students were selected by their teachers and others were selected through a vote from peers. As we honor MLK, Jr on Monday when want to remember his words. He is quoted as saying “The function of education, therefore, is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically… We must remember that intelligence is NOT ENOUGH. Intelligence plus CHARACTER-that is the true goal of education.

Late Arrivals and Early Dismissals
We ask that our students arrive to school on time every day. Our school day begins at 8:35 AM. Our instructional program begins the moment students enter our classrooms. When a child is late for school (OR EVEN PICKED UP EARLY) he or she misses valuable instructional time. We realize that occasional lateness may occur, however habitual lateness causes the student undo stress and anxiety and even a loss of one on one attention with the teacher. Please be aware that early pick up is also a disruption at the end of the day. Our school day ends at 3:43 PM. Your continued support in this area is appreciated!
Clarenceville Schools and Caller ID
FYI - Please know that when an outgoing call is made from ANY school phone in the district, it shows on your own caller ID as 248-919-0200 and identifies the number as a Michigan call.
This is the same caller ID number for all district buildings.
If you see this number as a missed call, please call back the school your child attends and not the number shown on your caller ID.
