What is Muscular Dystrophy
- A genetic disorder that weakens the muscles that helps the body move.
- People who have Muscular Dystrophy or MD have incorrect or missing information in their genes.
- MD prevents a persons body from being able to create proteins.
- People who have MD had to be born with it, MD is not passed on such as an illness could be
- People who have MD usually will eventually need to use a wheelchair because of the increase of weak muscles
Causes
Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic disorder which means that children who have MD were born with it
complications
complications for MD are, weak muscles , unable to make proteins and having to use a wheelchair
Testing/Treatment and life outlook
Testing: enzyme tests, electromyography, muscle biopsy and genetic testing. No cures Some do need wheel chairs, normal life span, weakness, can't be prevented.
