What is Muscular Dystrophy

  • A genetic disorder that weakens the muscles that helps the body move.
  • People who have Muscular Dystrophy or MD have incorrect or missing information in their genes.
  • MD prevents a persons body from being able to create proteins.
  • People who have MD had to be born with it, MD is not passed on such as an illness could be
  • People who have MD usually will eventually need to use a wheelchair because of the increase of weak muscles
