Meet Up & Eat Up Schedule Change
During Spring Break, our food distribution schedule will be readjusted for the holiday. Food distribution will occur on Monday and Thursday only. Three meals will be distributed on Monday, April 6 and four meals on Thursday, April 9 for students. These are the only days that the food sites will be open. Please note, this change is in effect for the week of April 6 only. Thanks to the hard work of our food service staff and volunteers, Utica Community Schools has provided nearly 120,000 meals to students. For more information, please visit www.uticak12.org.
April is Autism Awareness Month!
This month we celebrate Autism Awareness Month and what makes us all different and special. We all do things differently and think in special ways. This is a great opportunity to talk with your child about how our differences can be strengths and about the power of empathy.
Here are some resources for approaching these topics with your child:
· Book: The Girl Who Thought in Pictures: The Story of Dr. Temple Grandin by Julia Finley Mosca (Read-Aloud video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTchInQELVI&t=15s
· Book: All My Stripes: A Story for Children with Autism by Danielle Royer and Shaina Rudolph
(Read-Aloud video):

· Puzzle Craft: Have your child write or draw something that makes them special on each puzzle piece and decorate the puzzle. They can then cut it apart and have someone else solve it!

Happy Autism Awareness Month!
