AP SCHOLARS
CHS is proud of the 130 students who qualified as AP (Advanced Placement) Scholars for the 2017-18 school year. Although many AP Scholars graduated in May, some current Chandler AP Scholars are pictured. The College Board acknowledges students who meet the following criteria:
- AP Scholar: Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
- AP Scholar with Honor: Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams
- AP Scholar with Distinction: Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
- AP National Scholar: Granted to students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
CHS STUDENTS WIN NATIONAL YOUTH ARTS AWARDS
Chandler High Theatre has done it again! Here are the results of the 13th Annual National Youth Arts Awards for the 2017-2018 season. Chandler earned 4 awards and 10 additional nominations!

EMERGENCY AND HEALTH UPDATE
Please go to your Parent Portal and complete the “Emergency and Health Update” form. This form has to be accessed through the browser and will take about 5 minutes to complete. If you need help setting up your Parent Portal please call 480-812-7700.
UNIFIED SPORTS
Students, if you are looking to get involved at CHS, consider our award winning Unified Sports program. The mission of Unified Sports is to create an inclusive environment that combines students with intellectual disabilities and students without disabilities on sports teams for training and competition. CHS offers Unified cheer, flag football, soccer, track and basketball. For more information, please see Mrs. Peacock in room 515.
IB PARENT BOOSTER MEETING THIS WEDNESDAY
Join the IB Boosters this Wednesday, August 8th at 7:00pm in the CHS Media Center to discuss booster club goals and events. Dr. Murphy from ASU will be here to give a presentation about helping students with a positive mindset.

STUDENT YEARBOOK PHOTOS AND ID’S
Freshmen, sophomores and juniors will have their yearbook and ID photos taken this Tuesday, August 7th, through their English Classes. Transportation will require IDs beginning August 8th.
After students receive their IDs, they must have them at all times (picture of ID on phone is fine). Replacement IDs are $5.00.
SENIOR PHOTOS
Lifetouch Prestige Photography will be on campus for CHS Senior photography sessions on the following dates: 10/1-10/6, 10/8-10/13, and 10/15-10/16.
Seniors will receive communication in September notifying them of the date and time of their appointment. Additional upgraded sessions will be available and explained in your September communication.
YEARBOOK EARLY BIRD SPECIAL
The Early Bird Special for the 2018-19 Yearbook is $60.00. The price will increase after August 18th. Purchase your yearbook from the CHS Bookstore or online at jostensyearbooks.com.

COLLEGE PRESENTATIONS
All college visits will take place in the CHS College & Career Center, unless otherwise specified. Students should sign up outside of the College & Career Center to attend a presentation. They will receive a pass in class on the day of the presentation.

2020 LAUDE SYSTEM
CHANDLER EDUCATION FOUNDATION: IMPACT CHANDLER EVENT
Chandler Education Foundation would like to invite you to participate in a free two hour event designed to engage high school students in a discussion about leadership and volunteerism in the community. The event is held at Hamilton High School, from 6-8pm on Thursday, August 9th. This event is open to IMPACT Chandler students and other CUSD high school students who would like to be part of this unique opportunity. Two hours of Community Service hours will be provided to attendees.

DRESS CODE REMINDER
Students who are brought to the office in violation of the Chandler High School Dress Code will be given consequences ranging from a warning (1st offense) to In School Detention (multiple offenses).
In addition, the student must remove the garment or accessory and replace it with an appropriate alternative provided by the school, student, or parent. All items are returned to students at the end of the school day. There will be a $10.00 replacement fee for all Chandler High School dress code garments not returned to the office.
CCA YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL
Applications are being accepted for the Chandler Center for the Arts Youth Advisory Council through September 7th. Fifteen Chandler area teens, between the ages of 13-17, are selected and will serve on the CCA Advisory Council for the year. They will be engaged in experiential 3-hour sessions from September - February that will provide hands-on real world leadership situations of a Performing Arts Center. Teens will complete the program with increased knowledge of: career opportunities, financial responsibility, leadership skills, small and large group dynamics and public relations and marketing.
