STEAMing Right Along!

The August 27th early release day was our first official STEAM Day for the 2019-2020 school year. Students in all grade levels participated in STEAM activities and worked with their classmates to create, explore, and learn about a variety of different things throughout their day.

WFES staff members also continued expanding their own STEAM education knowledge and teaching practices with another training from the Arizona Science Center. The goal of the training was to help Wildfire staff members develop their STEAM knowledge and instruction in the areas of incorporating literature and text into STEAM lessons. WFES will continue our partnership with the Arizona Science Center by attending additional trainings and utilizing support materials throughout the year.

Excessive Heat Warnings

The start of the year has been filled with numerous days of excessive heat warnings issued by the Arizona Department of Health Services. When the heat index reaches a certain point it is not safe for students and staff members to go outside for recess. As a school, this means that we are forced to have student and staff members favorite thing...Indoor Recess...
The Saga of Indoor Recess

We have had a great first month of school!

Staff Member of the Month!

K-2 Resource Teacher Ms. Brittany Huff is new to Wildfire for the 2019-2020 school but she has hit the ground running and has made a fantastic addition to our staff. We are so thankful for all she does for her students and colleagues here at Wildfire. Her energy, enthusiasm, and love for teaching made her a great choice for our August Staff Member of the Month!
