IB ATTRIBUTE OF THE MONTH: REFLECTIVE

This month, REFLECTIVE is the IB Attribute of the Month. According to the IB, true learning occurs with reflection. When one is reflective, he/she gives thoughtful consideration to what is learned and experienced and assesses and understands his/her strengths and limitations to support learning and personal development. Reflection assists with decision-making and allows one to reassess what has happened, what has been learned, and to analyze events, emotions, and thoughts of the past. It allows one to ponder, question, and feel grateful for the journey and the lessons learned along the way.

This is a great attribute to end the school year! Parents are encouraged to assist their scholar(s) in reflecting on the school year to identify strengths, weaknesses, and personal growth.

Early Release Procedure

The instructional minutes your child experiences each day are vital, but some days it is also necessary to pick up your scholar early from school. Please remember that early releases will only be permitted until 2:00 PM. The following procedure must be followed so that your scholar(s) can be in the front office awaiting your arrival:

  • For early release, please head over to the Dashpass app and submit an early release request on the day of the early release.
  • It will send you an email. You must approve the request in the email in order for the school to receive the early release request and approve it.
  • When you arrive at the school to pick-up your scholar, use the camera on your mobile phone to scan the QR code that is hanging on the door.
  • Complete the form that shows up on your mobile phone, and your scholar(s) will be released to you.
