Rainforest
Deforestation
What is a rain-forest?
These incredible places cover only 6 %of the Earth's surface but yet they contain MORE THAN 1/2 of the world's plant and animal species!
A Rainforest can be described as a tall, dense jungle. The reason it is called a "rain" forest is because of the high amount of rainfall it gets per year. The climate of a rain forest is very hot and humid so the animals and plants that exist there must learn to adapt to this climate.
What is Deforestation
The cutting, clearing, and removal of rainforest or related ecosystems into less bio-diverse ecosystems such as pasture, cropland, or plantations
Negatives!
- Soil Erosion
- Climate Change
- Increase in flood/droughts
- Disruption of the water cylce
Positives!
- Renewal of vegetation
- Animals may thrive again without living in fear
- Restoration of animals homes
- Cleaner Air
Solution
My solution for preventing deforestation of rain forest is quite simple. Why don't we just create rain-forest reservations??? It would help prevent all the logging. Along with that species of animals won't lose their homes. Also the reservation would help the plant live thrive again. It would help plant and animals from being completely wipe out!!!!
