Where is all the Water?
Lack of Water in Developing Countries, Especially Nicaragua
The Global Water Crisis - A short introduction
My Water Story
As a sophomore in high school, I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Nicaragua. I was aware of the inaccessibility of water in various places, but I did not fully understand the severity of this problem until I experienced it first hand. As I watched the community of Nance Dulce collect water from muddy ditches while I drank my purified water, I began to better understand the immense gap between the rich and the poor. Why do these people not have the basic human right of water available? What can I do to make a change for these struggling people, and many others around the world? Through advocacy in addition to service, we can assist our brothers and sisters in Christ.
“Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all.” – Proverbs 22:2
