Hello, Lighthouse Families,
I hope you each enjoyed the long weekend and were able to spend time with family and friends. Students returned to school rested and ready to dive right back into exploring their curiosities and knowledge.
We are looking forward to our PTO meeting tomorrow, February 24, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. You can join us in person or via WebEx. This month's meeting will include a time for parent feedback. All are welcome and encouraged to attend and share thoughts, ideas, concerns & questions to help staff and leadership make Lighthouse the best school for our students.
Other Updates and Reminders
● Feed My Starving Children: On April 8, 2022, we will be taking students on a field trip to Feed My Starving Children. We will need parent volunteers to chaperone. If you are interested in chaperoning, please save the date. More information to come on this field trip.
● Concurrently Enrolled Students: Students in grades 8-11 should email Ms. Barnette or me with your child’s choice of classes for the 2022-2023 school year by Thursday, March 10, 2022.
● Face masks strongly recommended preK-12: The revised Face Mask Decision-Making Guide is in effect. Face masks are strongly recommended for preK-12. Masks will be required temporarily on a school-by-school basis if 5 percent or more of students and staff are out with COVID-19 or COVID-like symptoms. Data is updated weekly on the COVID-19 hub. Face masks continue to be required on buses following federal requirements.
This week is National Public Schools Week – February 21-25. I am grateful to be a part of a public school district that offers innovative and personalized learning to meet the needs of each student.
With Gratitude,
Lisa Cisewski
Kindergarten priority placement - February 28

Industry roundtable focuses on the future
Small and large business, non-profit, government and education leaders came together at Spring Lake Park High School last week to discuss the skills graduates need and how school and community can partner to build the future. More than two dozen leaders participated in the industry roundtable conversations, representing a variety of sectors – including retail, hospitality, health care, finance, manufacturing, construction, government and more. Participants provided insight on the skills and mindsets graduates need to succeed in the workforce. Read the full story here.
If you’re interested in becoming a partner by contributing to future opportunities surrounding this work, please contact Eric Van Brocklin, evanbr@district16.org, 763-600-5100.
