Congratulations to our 2015-16 Spelling Bee Champion & Runner-Up! S*P*L*E*N*D*I*D Effort!

Congratulations to our 2015-2016 Spelling Bee Champion, 5th grader, Sophia Livingston; and Runner-Up, 5th grader, Alex Boresow! We are so proud of the perseverance and dedication these students put into all that they do. Sophia will represent Belmont at the County Spelling Bee on January 30th in Gardner.

Congratulations to all of our participants this year and thank you for an exciting bee!

Conference Sign Ups are Ready for YOU!

We LOVE talking about your child's learning! Join us for conferences in just a few weeks. Click here to visit our conference sign up page. You'll be asked to enter basic information and share your time preferences. Conference times are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis with every effort made to schedule families with multiples back-to-back time slots in order to cut down on your travel time. Our goal is 100% participation.

Conference confirmation notes will be coming home with your child by Tuesday, February 2nd. Questions about conference times may be directed to Shelly McCann at or by calling the office at 913-667-1810.

BE PAWS Student Leadership Team will continue to accept Food Drive Donations next week!

Belmont Bulldogs can help! Our PAWS Student Leadership Team is sponsoring a FOOD DRIVE to benefit families served through the De Soto Food Pantry. Our food drive will take place the week of January 11-15th - NOW EXTENDED to JANUARY 20th! Below is a list of the Top 10 Needed Items:

#1 Canned Fruit and Applesauce or Canned Veggies (they have enough corn and green beans right now!)

#2 Dried Beans and Rice

#3 Cereal or Pancake Mix & Syrup

#4 Peanut Butter & Jelly

#5 Instant Potatoes or Pasta or Rice Sides

#6 Spaghetti Sauce or Canned Tomato products

#7 Hamburger Helper and other box meals

#8 Tuna or other canned meats

#9 Sugar and Flour for Baking

#10 Personal Care Items (shampoo/conditioner, razors, bar soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish soap)

If this project fits your family's heart, just send any items to school with your child. Thanks so much for helping us learn about making a difference at Belmont and beyond!

Kindergarten Round Up Dates Announced

District dates are set for kindergarten round-up at all elementary schools in February. Follow this link to the district website for information if you or anyone you know will have a kindergarten student in the 2016-2017 school year.
