  • During the genocide approximately 6 million Jews will killed.
  • That was about 2/3 of the population of Jews in Europe.
  • Over 1.1 million children died during the holocaust that's about 1/6 of the 6 million others killed.
  • At Birkenau over 1.1 million Jews were murdered in addition to 20,000 Poles, 19,000 Gypsies, and 12,000 Russian prisoners of war.
  • 1939: Germany invades Poland starting World War ll in Europe.
