Stop Bullying - It Does Help
Facts on Bullying
30-45% of middle and high school students are bullied.
Media reports often link bullying with suicide, when this is not the case. Most teens when bullied do not have thoughts of suicide, or have suicidal behaviors.
Some effects on people bullied are:
Increase in depression, anxiety, increased feelings of sadness and loneliness. They also have decreased academic achievement - standardized test scores. They are more likely to miss or skip school.
The risk can be increased further when they are not supported by parents, peers, and schools. Bullying can make an unsupported situation worse.
