Time for reflection

As the end of the calendar year approaches and I begin my yearly tradition of creating photo books for each of my own children, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride. Scrolling thru the year's photos, I have also found many photos I have taken at Lincoln in the first few months of my principalship. I can't help but reflect on the wonderful experiences and relationships that are beginning to be built. I met with some students and parents back in August and I think of how much more I have learned about all of our students since then. A goal was to get to know all of our Lincoln students and I feel like I have been able to do that, although I know the best is still to come. I look forward to the new year and want all of our students to begin reflecting on what they have done so far this school year and begin setting goals for the second semester. Next week, I plan to visit all the classes, to read and talk about setting goals in hopes that when they return they will have come up with a personal goal that they will work towards.

I also wanted to compliment our first and second graders. They attended a field trip to see a local play and I was told that they behaved very well. It is always great to hear compliments about our Lincoln students. Keep up the good work.

Also in this bulletin, note that the PTO has an upcoming fundraiser at Portillo's when we return from break. The flyer is attached along with PTO movie night tonight.

Finally, if you haven't completed the 5essentials survey please do so. The information is a way we are able to continue the things we are doing that work and also those that need improvement.

Next Friday-Holiday Sing

HOLIDAY SING

Next Friday, Lincoln will host a Holiday Sing beginning at 1:30 in the gymnasium. Parents, grandparents, etc. are welcome to join us for the fun event. After the Holiday Sing, students will end their day with classroom parties. Due to possible overcrowding in classrooms, only those parents who signed up to support the classroom parties through the Lincoln PTO should proceed to classrooms. All other Holiday Sing attendees should exit through the main entrance. I appreciate your support on this matter.

Reminder-Movie Night Tonight

As a reward for reaching our fundraising goal, the PTO will host a movie night tonight at Lincoln School Gym at 6:30. Details in the PTO newsletter attached.
