Conference with Students and Parents - clarification
Students may participate in conference and share their accomplishments as part of their conference. To make this work, plan a rotation so you have 15 minute or so of face-time with the parents, then have the student take their parent to another part of the room to share their work while you begin your next conference.
The district does not support student led conference as a result of parent complaints about students missing 2 instructional days and then spending the entire conference with their child listening to them share their work. The expectation is that teachers are engaging in a 15-20 minute dialogue with parents about students' academic and social/emotional progress.
February - district budget and staffing meetings
March - staffing and planning meetings
April - MS and HS staffing and planning meetings
May 16 Local Option Levy
After May 16 - Share staffing plan depending on levy outcome
Human Resources will determine the exact time line of what information can be shared when. There is the expectation that administrators will be following the same timeline when sharing staffing information. Staffing across the entire district, with over 2,000 staff, is completed before staffing information is shared.
IMPORTANT TO DO
Are your students averaging 10 minutes per day or 60 minutes per week on DreamBox? Set a goal for yourself or students to achieve 10-15 minutes per day.
Are your students stuck on a concept? Are you wondering if your students are ready for the next concept? Do you think students need some small group instruction? Wondering how to introduce the next concept whole group? Use the Best Practices Guide to help you take the next step in using DreamBox as a component of your math instruction.
