Description
Bipolar is a mood disorder caused by chemical imbalances in the brain. It causes extreme mood swings from, maniac highs to depressive lows. There are specifically two different types of Bipolar disorder which are Manic high and Depressive low.
Sign and Symptoms of Manic Highs
- Excessive happiness
- Excessive excitement
- Anxiety
- Irritability
- Restlessness
- Increased energy
- Less need for sleep
- Racing thoughts
- High sex drive
- Tendency to make grand and unattainable plans.
Signs and Symptoms of Depressive Lows
- Sadness
- Anxiety
- Irritability
- Loss of energy
- Uncontrollable crying
- Change in appetite causing weight loss or gain
- Increased need for sleep
- Difficulty making decisions
- Thoughts of death or suicide
