Quote thought....

My thought on Lopez quotes is in my opinion assessments are a tool for teachers to use to best assist student's. Assessments should be designed to build students learning and knowledge.

Questions 1-4

Why are you participating in the assessments that you use with students?

I participate in the assessment I use at my employment to determine what my student's know and determine what I need to include in my resources and my lessons to help assist my students with their education.

Can you share in explicit detail the value that you find in each assessment?

The value of Brigance Testing that we use is to determine the growth development of my students. Based on the scoring it lets me know as the teacher if I need to add, or take away materials in my lessons to help further my students growth development.

Do you participate in assessments that you find no value in for students?

No I do not believe so. I believe that the assessments used where I work assist me in determining developmental where my students are and gives my a an idea of where they need to be.

Are you using an assessment you have no idea how to deliver, but are afraid to ask for help with?

When I first began working with the company I am employed with now I was confused, but thankfully now I have a more clearer picture of how to implement the assessments we use.

Questions, Current Positions, Value, and Success

Thinking about these questions I would apply them by keeping them into considering when applying assessments and keeping in mind that assessments are for the best interest of our students.

Working to help students feel less stressful when assessments are being applied is a great value. I know when I apply my assessment with my students I explain to them that it is nothing to worry about just do your best.

In the readings it stated that "the litmus test for our assessments must include a deep focus on student involvement because it inevitably leads to student achievement" (Lopez, 2013). If we want our students to succeed in education we have to let them be a part of their education. Giving test and not taking the time to include students make them feel that they do not matter and they do.
