The USPS is offering a 3rd round of COVID test kits for free. If you are interested, they can be found at https://special.usps.com/testkits
Next week our 5th and 6th graders will be at Nature's Classroom.
Please remind your child to check out our Lost & Found. There are several things there that may belong at your house.
Please note the change in date for the 1st & 2nd grade field trip next week. They will be going on Thursday, not Friday.

Do you have a student eligible for PK next year? Please make sure to get your registration paperwork into the front office by May 31st. Due to the anticipated number of eligible students for next year, students not registered by that date may not be guaranteed a slot. Please help us spread the word.

A Message from MTRS principal Mr. Buckland
Good afternoon,
We recognize the importance of continuing to grow and support sporting ability in the district as a major part of improving student recruitment and retention. To this end we would like to ask for community involvement in helping to recruit and appoint our first District Athletic Director for July 1, 2022.
We are looking for community members to make up our hiring committee. The hiring committee will provide feedback to the building principal on candidate applications and will also participate in the interview process.
Ideally, our hiring committee will consist of the following members:
- Student/s
- Coach
- Parent/ care provider (Elementary and MS/ HS)
- Community member (Elementary and MS/ HS)
- MTAA member
- Principal
Timeline for appointment of the District Athletic Director
- Position advertised: 9-23rd May
- May 26th - hiring committee to help review applications and select candidates for interview
- June 1, 2, 3 (tentative dates to be confirmed) Interviews
- June 17th Appointment confirmed
- July 1: start date

General description of the District Athletic Director's responsibilities(A full description has been shared in MTRSD buildings and towns, as well as through Schoolspring.com)
Working closely with the Principal, the Athletic Director leads and supervises the MTRSD athletic program to ensure that each student-athlete appropriately benefits through participation in interscholastic athletics.
Major responsibilities include direct oversight of middle and high school athletic teams; athletic facilities; all coaches; team scheduling; athletic transportation; and the athletic budget. The Athletic Director also ensures that the MTRSD is in compliance with national (NFHS), state (MIAA), and regional (PVIAC), guidelines and policies.
Additonally, working closely with the principal, Liaison for Community Engagement and Enrichment, the MTAA and town REC depts when appropriate, the Athletic Director leads and supervises the extracurricular athletic feeder programs at the MTRS elementary schools.
Major responsibilities include the design, implementation, staffing and yearly evaluation of these programs and triannual district jamborees: Fall- Soccer, Winter, Basketball, Spring - Baseball.Please reach out with any questions.
