Attribute of the Learning Profile is to be: Communicators
!! This is a phenomenal achievement that very few schools tried in fact very few schools manage to obtain such recognition. What an honor it has been to join such a committed group of educators and families!
This is the first second monthly newsletter to be shared, our goal is to continue the IB Programming as a personal and role model, the attributes of the learning profile that we highlight for our students. This newsletter should communicate some of the best things that happen on campus, share the necessary information about our approach for the coming weeks and be a resource to distribute information about upcoming events. Pre-Kinder
Lines of Inquiry:
- We will learn the roles of community members
- Our role within our school community
- How our families contribute to their community
Kinder
Lines of Inquiry:
- An inquiry about traditional foods.
- An investigation about cultural celebrations.
- An investigation on diverse customs around the world.
1st Grade
Lines of Inquiry:
- An inquiry into the analysis of different cultures.
- An investigation to explore the benefits of being diverse.
- An investigation on the learning of diverse cultural vacations and special days.
2nd Grade-How We Express Ourselves
Lines of Inquiry:
- An inquiry to the parts of the brain.
- An inquiry about learning differences.
- An inquiry into self-regulation strategies.
3rd Grade-Where We Are in Place and Time
Central Idea: Actions can influence past, present and future events.
Lines of Inquiry:
- Characteristics of a good citizen.
- Good citizens impact the world
- Different types of communities.
- Global changes due to good citizens of the past.
4th Grade- Sharing the Planet
Central Idea: People are responsible for sharing limited resources.
Lines of Inquiry:
- People share a responsibility towards others.
- Natural resources are necessary for survival.
- Environmental problems are global and important for all people in all countries.
- Human effects in an ecosystem.
5th Grade-Where We Are in Place and Time
Lines of Inquiry:
- An inquiry on how people explore to obtain a better way of life.
- An inquiry on how exploration can affect existing communities and environments.
- An inquiry on how the first explorers changed the culture and history.
