Important Dates to Remember

November 16 - 20: Book Fair

November 25-27: No School - Thanksgiving Break
This Week:
READING: This week students are worked on finding theme in fiction. We used our interactive journals to complete activities to help us identify theme. Students also continued to work on figurative language and how it is used in literature and all around us.
MATH: We are continued to work on division and took our 2nd unit quiz.
WRITING: Students finished their Tom the Turkey project.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We began our unit on studying Native American tribes and how they compare to the Kansa Tribe. Students conducted research in groups during class and put together a display to share with the rest of the students.
Next Week and Beyond
MATH: Students will work in groups according to areas they need extra practice to prepare for our Unit 3 Test which we will take on Thursday. he kids have worked really hard and they are going to do GREAT!
WRITING: We will begin a Totem Pole writing project. This ties into our SS unit studying Native American Tribes.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Students will continue their Native American research and create a poster to display.
NOVEMBER 23 & 24:
We will begin setting our MAP goals for the Winter and will complete a lot of fun Thanksgiving themed activities. Students may wear their pajamas on Tuesday and bring their Historical Fiction Book so that they can read a little while here at school.Please make sure and look over he timeline of the project and that your child is reading each night.
