Dear Parents and Carers,
Wasn't it a fantastic sports day! We were blessed with sunshine and the splitting of key stages made the day flow so much better. Thank you for all the lovely comments, we really hope you enjoyed watching your children. We were very impressed with the sportsmanship and perseverance on show. A couple of thank yous - first to the Friends of Kirk Fenton for supplying children and staff with ice lollies on such a hot day and second to all the parents, especially Mr Smith, who helped us to tidy up at the end of the day. We are very grateful.
Next on to classes for next year. As you are aware, our Reception intake affects the spread of our classes and I need to make decisions each year about the structure of classes for the following year depending on numbers. Our structure for next year will be as follows:
Reception - Donaldson Class - Mrs Skelton and Mrs Young
Reception/Year 1 - Hughes Class - Mrs Westfeld
Year 1 - Coelho Class - Mrs Slater and Mrs Skelton
Year 2 - Rosen Class - Mr Carman
Year 3 - Milligan Class - Mrs Wolterman and Mrs Bembridge
Year 4 - Zephaniah Class - Mrs Harrison
Year 5 - Shakespeare Class - Mr Symes
Year 6 - Angelou Class - Mr Priory and Mrs Cameron
I am delighted to let you know that Mrs Cameron has been appointed as Deputy Head starting in September with responsibility as the strategic lead for curriculum. I am very excited about next year and all the wonderful things we are planning to support your children with their learning.
Finally, next Friday 1st July, we will be holding our Kirk Fenton Pride Day to celebrate diversity and difference. We would like the children to come to school in different colours. There is no donation for this event however, Harry, our Head Boy will be selling doughnuts after school in aid of Street Paws, a charity that provides funding for veterinary care for animals living on the streets with homeless people.
Have a lovely weekend,
Karen Williams

Congratulations to our winning KS2 team 'The United Kingdom' and our winners in KS1/ FS who were 'Sri Lanka'. What an amazing start to National School Sports Week, well done Kirk Fenton!
