State Band Udpate
On Friday, May 13th, the Bandon High School Band competed at the OSAA State Band competition located at the OSU LaSalle Center. In order for the band to be able to participate at the state event, they have to have received qualifying scores from a previous festival. These festivals take place all over the state of Oregon and all schools with a band program 1-6A are invited to participate in them. Anyone with a qualifying score can then "apply" to participate in the state competition, but only the top 8 bands are invited.
The Bandon High School Band placed 3rd out of 8 bands that participated in the event, meaning that the Bandon High School band is the 3rd best 2A band in the state of Oregon!!!!
"I thought the band showed up at the competition ready to play their best and that is what they did!" Mr. Weston
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
Students interested in helping with the Bandon Police Department at the National Night Out event on August 2 please sign up on the clipboard at the office window. Students will help with setup, games during the event, and clean up after. This is a chance for students to give back to the community that gives so much to them.
